This is a wood version of this very puzzling trick. Not so much magic as a puzzle, but boy, is it a tough puzzle to crack! It took me five minutes even after I read the secret. And I thought it must be defective, and then when I "got it", the thing came open with ease -- I was the defective one!
You show a small wooden box with an single opening, that it covered with a piece of thin plastic.
Borrow a bill from someone -- I like to have then put their initials on George Washington's forehead (as in the photo). Placing the bill and box under a hanky or under the table for a moment, you re-emerge with the box, and the bill is inside. (They can see their initials through the box's window) Now, unless someone knows the secret, they will never get that bill out. (Unless they smash the box to pieces!) But you can put it under the table again (or behind your back with practice), and get the bill out in seconds. Then they can look again at the empty box and never be able to open it.
