Tony Curtis' put out this very funny effect in the late 1980's. A few years later, Emerson & West bought the rights, slapped their name on the original Curtis instruction sheet, and began selling it as part of thier E&W packet magic line-up. In the early 2000's, Royal Magic obtained the rights and re-issued the effect. But the Royal version was much lower quality than those put out by Curtis and E&W.
This is one of the Emerson & West sets -- the photo cards are more vibrantly printed than the more recent Royal Magic issue of the effect, and the photo cards are also laminated which makes them extra durable -- in essence, these cards will last forever!
The effect (for those who do not know it yet) is this:
A small packet of glamour photos is shown, featuring good looking women in bikinis. The cards are mixed and then given to a male spectator, facedown, so he can randomly choose his mystery date. After he eliminates all but one card, using a very cute "she loves me, she loves me not" counting process, he finds that his chosen card is not a hot girl, but an old wrinkled crone!
These E&W issue sets from the early 1990s are hard to find now. This set is in like new condition, and the instruction sheet is in good condition. (It appears to be a photocopy, but this is how E&W issued this effect, as mentioned above -- they supplied the cards with a photocopy of the original instructions)
Not a routine for every audience, but this is a good one to have in your table hopping arsenal for when you come up on a table full of rowdy young men.
