This is a fun quickie. You show a picture of Harry Houdini, in chains and manacles. Harry is the colorful part of an otherwise black-and-white picture (drawing). You also have a folder with a large window in front, and bars across the window to simulate the jail cell from which Houdini was famous for escaping. You slide the Houdini drawing into the folder, and visibly, Houdini vanishes from the drawing as he goes into the cell. It is very startling.
Not examinable, so best to move on to another mystery, but works well as a quick magical interlude. Although a simple method, it does take a little practice to get the knack of accomplishing the secret "action" as you insert Houdini into the folder.
Folder and drawing are about 4"x 8" so best for close-up performances, but also plays in a living room show.
