FLASH PAPER TIPS by STUART ROBSON and RALPH READ 51 pages paperback booklet
2014 Robbins' reprint of the 1951 Tannen's edition. (The Tannen's edition from 1951 was actually a combined double booklet, that included two Flash Paper books from the 1930's!)
Look at the photo of table of contents to get an idea of what is in this book.
Who doesn't love flash paper? Though fewer magi are using it these days, probably because they are worried about fire in their show. But when used with caution, flash paper can create a stunning and surprising moment of magic -- Jay Sankey uses it to good effect in many of his routines.
This booklet gives lots of ideas for using flash paper. Because it is an older text, there are some ideas that are less practical now. A lot of magic with cigarettes which has fallen out of favor generally.
But there are also some real gems hidden in this little booklet. There is a very cool transposition of two matchboxes which I have used for years and always fools the heck out of laypeople. Plus the great Paul Curry's I.O.U. trick, which is a must-learn for anyone who does not already know it from Curry's books.
Does not come with any flash paper -- just the "tips" on how you might use your own flash paper to good effect.
This is new-old dealer inventory, so in like new condition, unused and not previously owned.
