Spectators always ask you to teach them a trick, right? Well, when that occurs, this is the perfect trick to perform. (It's a great trick to perform anytime actually...)
The effect: a spectator chooses a card, (let's say, the 7 of Spades), and it is lost back into the deck. The magi offers to let a second spectator do the trick, using a special set of "Instruction Cards". The stack of cards is placed on the table and the spectator is asked to read the first card. "Ask if spectator remembers the card," she reads. The other spectator says, "Yes" and so the fun begins. The magi moves the top card to the side, and there is another "instruction" for the spectator-turned-magician. As the cards are moved aside, the spectator continues to follow the instructions, and there is some funny business, as the method that the cards are following seems pretty obvious, and then does not seem to work, so some of the "instructions" get a bit desperate :-) Finally, the last card has an instruction that leads to a surprise reveal of the chosen card, since there are seven spade pips on the back of the instruction cards.
Obviously, this is not earth-shaking magic for magicians, but for laypeople, this routine plays HUGE. If you want to impress the lay audiences (you know, the ones who actually pay for shows!), then this routine from the late Tom Craven is strong stuff!
Includes the seven laminated "instruction cards", and instruction sheet. The cards are about the size of a standard business card, so they fit right into your wallet. Use your own card deck.
From ex-dealer inventory, so new-old stock -- never used.
