This is an offbeat effect that people will remember. A deck is spread faceup and the spectator THINKS of any card she sees. Then the magician turns the deck facedown and draws a "hole" on the back of the top card. With a few deft hand movements over the hole, he rubs the hole away, saying it has gone down in the deck to find the selected card. (Let's say its the King of hearts) The card is named, and the deck turned faceup and spread until the King of Hearts arrives, and sure enough, there's a hole in the King of Hearts. The other cards are shown as solid and un-holed.
The only thing I did not like about this effect was that at the end the cards were spread faceup until you reached the selection. So I worked out a way that you could spread the deck facedown and come to one card with a hole. This card is set on the table, and then turned up to reveal it is the thought of card. (Whoever buys this can email me for the details on this handling if they want!)
Not the same card every time, so don;t worry about repeat performances or hokey forces. This is good!
