If you actually read the descriptions, and look over the items we carry at TMGS, it will not come as a surprise that we like simple and inexpensive magic tricks A LOT! Just because somethign is easy, or "made for beginners" doesn't mean that it can't fry an audience of lay people. The Wand through Pin effect is one such classic! Easy to do, very visual, and perfect to carry with you all the time.
The effect is this: a small wand is examined, revealing nothing suspicious, other than a tiny pin hole through the middle. Next a large saftey pin is examined and the spectator then threads the wand onto the pin -- now seeing the reason for the pin hole in the wand. The magi takes the pin and wand from the spectator and shows the wand resting on the bar of the pin. He gives the wand a gentle push and the wand passes right through the bar of the pin -- the wand is now BENEATH the bar. He spins the wand around to put it once again above the bar, and as the spectators' eyes burn his hands, wand and pin, the magi again causes the wand to pass right through the bar of the pin. One of those tricks that seems too simple to fool, but it will drive them crazy! I suggest doing this effect 2-3 times then moving on to more pin penetration magic, like Andrus Linking pins, Piff Paff Poof, etc.
You can't beat this one for a trick under $3.
