Hugard's Card Manipulations teaches not just flourishes but essential sleights and applications in actual tricks.  The items in the book are very strong, many of them very difficult also.  But for a beginner who wants to practice, the book will provide a lot of material to grow into as he/she learns.

This FIRST EDITION from Dover is a beautiful addition to any serious magic library.   This example is in near mint condition, just one small price sticker residue on the bottom center of the back cover.
