From SS Adams, first issued in the 1940's, I believe that they continued to produce these into the1960's and maybe even early 1970's. But in the mid-1970's they began putting their Phantom Cards into a smaller envelope and enclosing it in a hanging rack package, so best guess is this from 1960's or earlier.
Of all the vintage Adams card tricks, Phantom Cards seems to be the easiest one to find -- probably because it was a top seller for them. Although a card trick, this is actually made for stand-up performance, as the gaff is not very deceptive close-up. The card back matches the classic Deland's Automatic Deck design
Although Phantom Cards turns up relatively often for sale, this set is in excellent condition -- it may have been from ex-dealer inventory, and so appears to never have been used.
If you had one of these back in the 1960's or 1970s, here is your chance to regain that former glory!
A nice example, for the collector of vintage close-up and card magic, or to display for guests if you want them to start asking questions about your magic -- a perfect intro to show them some tricks!
CONDITION NOTES: previously owned, but in apparently unused condition -- cards are clean and undamaged. Instructions are also undamaged. Original package envelope has some brown discoloration.
