A DIAMOND IS THE MAGICIANS BEST FRIEND:  another Lecture by Paul Diamond

written by Jim Heuser -- undated, but circa late 1980's or early 1990's I think.

Paperback, 58 pages

There is a mixed variety of magic described in this booklet, including Silk magic, Cane magic, some money magic, and Reel magic (of course... what booklet by Paul Diamond did not feature some great Reel magic).

There is a lot of very practical advice on silk productions, using message silks for special shows, and using standard hank gimmicks.  The highlight for me is one of the money tricks, which Diamond used to sell as a stand-alone item for about the same price as this booklet originally sold for.

You take a one dollar and five dollar bill, fold them across each other, interlocking them.  And then, visually, you pull the bills through each other.  They just seem to melt through the folds that secure them.  Immediately repeated.  It is very strong.  I have carried that trick in my wallet for about 40 years.  Still gets jaw-drops from lay audiences.  Described in the booklet using "stage money" but easy to make up using real currency.   Worth many times the price of this booklet

But there is more:  the section on magic with a Reel is very good also, and may get you to finally start using that Reel in your drawer, which you did not think was a good trick.  (Hint: it is!  In fact, it is a lot of good tricks)

Condition notes:  This is new-old dealer inventory.  Even though the booklet is almost 30 years old, it is like new, clean, unmarked, and tight.
