Who doesn't love paddle tricks?  Such a great move, easy to learn, and yet so deceptive.   And many a magician in my generation got his introduction to paddle magic through one of two tricks:  either the Hot Rod, or the Tricky Paddles.   (Both still fun and entertaining pocket tricks even after 4-5 decades!)

In the early 1960's or late 1950's, EZ magic put out Tricky Paddles -- a set of two small white paddles that each did a different magical change.  But when I first learned the tricky Paddles in the 1970's, the design had been changed to bigger colorful paddles of red and yellow.    The designs of Hat and rabbit, and square/circle continued to be printed directly on the paddle.

Here is one of those sets from the 1970's or 1980's.    EZ Magic continued to use the same cardboard backing display card, because it was also the instruction sheet.  But they no longer cut the card and inserted the paddles through the cut-slots, because the paddles were now too long to properly fit on the card.
(EZ must have run out of cardboard backing cards, as they briefly issued these larger paddles with a simple paper backing/instructions in the 1990's)
By the turn of the 21st century, these large EZ Magic paddles were no longer available, and were eventually replaced by a lower quality, smaller import paddle with a sticker graphic stuck on for the shapes and rabbit in hat.  :-(

Well, that may be more than you ever wanted to know about the Tricky Paddles, but for collectors of vintage close-up, I thought it was important to go into detail.

The effect is two-in-one:  one paddle shows an empty hat and a rabbit appears in it.  The other paddle shows a circle and it changes to a square.  Simple but very visual and surprising for lay audiences.

This is new-old dealer inventory from a lot of ex-dealer inventory.    The paddles and backing card are never previously sold/owned, so they are are in new, unused condition.
Whether you want this for the nostalgic memories, or want it for your vintage magic collection, or want it for your performing repertoire, one thing is clear....  You want it!

Don't miss your chance.
