DOCC HILFORD, The Secrets of Dr. Tao -- 1st edition 2008
Sub-titled: "Three original close-up mental effects designed for Walk-around cocktail parties"
Hilford has a good sense for balancing bold methods with practical handlings. That is, he isn't afraid to use a bold method, as long as he has thought through the best way to minimize the chance that spectators perceive the process as logical and fair.
In this booklet, he teaches (in great detail) three effects which can be used strolling, or within a set show, or really in any close-up situation. I found the first one to be the best -- it begins as a "which hand has it?" routine (with a very strong, emotional context), and ends with the revelation of a spectator's secret desire. It is not difficult and very practically routined. But the other two effects are also worthy of study and performance as well.
Look at the back cover photo for more detail on the effects within. The booklet is well-worth the cover price of $25, but I have seen it sold for less, so I will price it in line with the best price I have seen on the printed 1st edition book.
