Here's a context for a paddle trick that is new -- paddles have been doing all kinds of magical things for decades. But this is the first one I have seen that tests somebody's blood alcohol level. :-)
This is very nicely made paddle, heavy duty and easy to use. And the context is fun, so I like it a lot. After showing some tricks to a group of people enjoying some adult beverages, you notice that one of them seems to be a bit impaired. You take your magic Breathalyzer from your pocket -- show it on both sides. (It says "BREATHALYZER" on both sides). I say, one side tests people over 200 pounds, and one side tests people under 200 pounds. Let your spectator choose the appropriate side of the paddle, hold it out for her to breath on it. Suddenly it reads "DRUNK".
For those magicians who do bar magic or work adult parties, it is a natural. That said, I recommend using it sparingly and only for the "right" audience. Overuse of alcohol is a difficult subject for many, and so please do not use this on anyone who is truly drunk, or among people who may be struggling with alcohol usage. But for most adults out for a good time, this gets a great reaction and allows them to poke a bit of fun at the spectator who failed the test.
A nice prop, one that you will use. (Photo shows TWO of them, so you see both sides. You only get one paddle.)
Brand new with instructions.
