The problem with deciding that something is "the best" in a finite group, is that it makes it seem like the other things in the group might not be so good. In 2008, Docc Hilford put out a 4-DVD set of mental magic, and (like most of Docc Hilford's offerings) it was full of quality stuff, on all 4 of the DVDs. But among the four DVDs, this volume (#3) stood out as the best of the bunch, in my humble opinion.
I elevate this DVD (Bride of Monster Mentalism) to that status because more than on the other DVDs in the set, Docc spends time teaching techniques that form the foundation for so many other possible routines, in addition to the excellent routines he explains on the DVD.
He goes in detail as to how to properly (that's the key word, "properly") and effectively present an equivoque choice. He covers various psychological influence techniques, which (once understood) allow you to perform mental effects anytime, anywhere. Other important topics are audience management and dual realities. But unlike many teaching DVDs that cover topics like this, Hilford gets beyond the theoretical and right down to the practical application.
I also think the routines he teaches on this DVD are consistently effective for lay audiences. You will learn a lot from this DVD and use the routines on it.
Best online price I found today for this DVD was $28. Get it here for less.
Opened for photos and review, but like new, with original DVD and case and label.
