UF Grant first put this trick out in the 1950's, and this contemporary re-make does justice to the classic effect.  Although the selection is limited to just six choices, the display and no-force selection are so clean, that the one-in six prediction effect plays very strong.  Of course, you can increase the impact by offering the spectator a large sum of money, a new car, or a trip around the world if you fail to correctly predict her selection.  You do not need to worry.  You will always be correct!

A hand-held chalk board  (about 9 x 11 inches) is shown.  It has the numbers 1 through 6 one it, and next to each number, there is a card securely held by a fabric band that runs along the sides of the frame.  (Look at the picture...)   The cards all face away from the audience.   A spectator chooses any number.  She may change her mind if she wants, as there is no force.  The card at that number is removed and placed into a fabric slot at the top of the frame.   (Note:  the card never leaves the audience's sight -- no switch or funny stuff.)   With the card in place at the top of the frame, the spectator is again asked if she would rather choose another number.  She does not, or maybe she does, and the card is replaced and her new chosen card put at the top of the frame.   Despite this fair selection, the frame is turned around to show that the name of the selected card is boldly written on the face of the slate.  The other five cards can also now be seen, and they are all different.

This trick is well-made, and easy to do.  It should sell for a lot more, but when we get a good deal on good magic, we always try to share that good fortune with our TMGS customers, so don't let the low price put you off.  This may be the best stand-up mentalism effect you can buy for under $20.
