I just started doing this one recently, and boy, is it strong!  There is something very innocent and  unassuming about a newspaper -- because they are common everyday items, and they contain so much varied information and they change every day...  I guess no one really thinks that they could be gimmicked.

Well, this one is, and it looks great!  You can see in the picture, the stories and pictures and paper quality all look just like the real thing.  So if you are worried about "how it looks", don't worry!  As for the effect, here's how it looks:   A prediction envelope is given to a member of the audience to hold.   The mentalist removes a double sheet from a newspaper, and sets the rest of it aside.  The paper is displayed on both sides showing a variety of stories and information.   The sheet is torn into 16 small pieces, and these are handed to another spectator who mixes them up and chooses any piece she wants -- this is a completely random and free choice, and happens entirely in her hands.  The magi puts the remaining pieces aside, and asks the spectator to read outloud a line of the story on the piece she holds.    When the audience member holding the precition envelope opens it and removes the prediction, it matches the line just read aloud!

Note:  no switches of the piece or the prediction.  You could mail the prediction in advance to the show organizer.   Nothing to memorize or calculate.  If you prefer, the prediction could be eliminated and the effect played as a thought divination as the spectator thinks of the line in the story.

The routine that comes with the trick involves putting pages of newspaper into envelopes and then having an envelope chosen, but I think the more streamlined approach above is stronger.  Why run when you aren't being chased?

The sheet fits into any medium format newspaper -- like the tabloid size papers.    You could even gimmick the rest of the newspaper and do a torn and restored paper with the rest after you have fried the audience with the prediction effect.

You get enough to perform this FIFTY times, minus 3 or 4 practice runs. ( And you will be able to do after just a few practice run-throughs...  it's easy!)

P.S.  This item is pretty heavy to ship, so postage will be high...
