The apparatus includes a special brass container that holds five different colored brass disks. A color is selected by the spectator, and the five discs are put into the container. A Brass "needle" with cord attached is threaded through the container and the disks. But the spectator's chosen color magically falls free of the cord when the container is opened. The magi does not even know what color is selected until it falls free from the container -- no forces or tricky glimpses. Oh yeah... at the end (or better yet, at the beginning) the props are fully examinable if you desire.
This version of the trick is put out by Philly Magic, and like all the other versions, it uses FIVE colored discs. But for some reason, the instructions mention six discs. But when the instructions name the colors, only five colors are named, and the picture of discs in a hand show only five. So I am pretty sure that there are only supposed to be five. Five is enough to create the interesting effect -- just want to be clear so you don;t think a disc is missing if you buy this.
