Like many DVDs being put out lately, this one really only features a single trick, but it does give you a couple of nifty ideas about performing that effect, and does a good job teaching the one incredibly useful sleight (a fast card fold) that is needed for the classic verison of the effect.
That effect is this: a card is selected, signed and lost in the deck. Moments later, the magician grimaces a bit, then uses his tongue to push a folded card out from between his teeth and lips. Unfolding it, it is indeed the sign selection. Hand it to your spectator for a souvenir and you can watch her grimace.
The classic routine is definitely good to learn and add to your repetoire, but the DVD also includes a zany verison of the effect in which a card is selected, and lost in the deck. The deck is fanned and the magi runs the fan along his teeth, then rips his face away from the fan, revealing a card pip stuck to his teeth (or some really bad looking Billy Bob denture teeth). The card pip matches the selection. The selected card is taken from the deck, and yes, the index corner pip has been bitten off. This silly routine actually plays better for me than the more technically demanding classic version. Well, that's laymen for you!
40 minutes long, and a good buy. Hampel sells the DVD for $15 on his own site. Get it here for less.
