Juan Tamariz made this novel card revelation famous when he performed it on one of the many "World's Greatest Magic" TV specials. Whether you perform it in the somewhat manic and almost insane manner that Tamariz does, or maybe perform a bit more sedately, the effect is always impressive and puzzling.
A small wooden car is shown. (Its about three inches long.) A card is freely selected and lost in the deck, then some cards are lined up on the table. The car is pushed along the table, next to the cards, and suddenly "brakes" at a single card -- the wheels just stop turning. The specatator can also push it and then it will still break at the same card. The card is turned over, and of course, it is the selection.
Use any deck. Sells for about $25-$30 elsewhere. There is also a clear (plexi) version of this effect out now (selling for $30-$35), but frankly, the simple wooden car looks much more like a real childs toy, and not a fancy magician's prop. (How many kids play with clear plexi-glas toy cars?)
