Ten years after he released his first videos, the prolific and inventive Mark Mason returns with a two DVD set of innovative ideas for card and coin workers, plus a few extra close-up items using neither cards nor coins.
There are 16 items on the two DVDs, each well performed and then well explained by Mason. About half the items are full tricks or routines, and the other half are offbeat moves and techniques. I am usually put off by too many new moves on a DVD, but the items Mason teaches are both useful and practical.
The skill level of the magic taught is intermediate – nothing too hard, but you need to be prepared to practice some to get the tricks down smoothly.
Of the items taught, my favorites include:
Foot and Mouth – a lesson in misdirection, where a chosen card appears in your mouth and then under the spectator’s foot.
Floating Finger ring – a very practical use for your ITR.
Put and Take transpo – a great idea for getting way ahead of the spectator in a two card transpo routine.
There’s also a nice sponge balls and silk routine you’ll use a lot, a great spellbound handling you will use a lot, and an over the top false cut flourish that you will need to REALLY practice a lot if you want to use it!
The two DVDs also include interviews with Mark Mason where he gives some good advice and philosophy on magic , performing, etc.
Very practical magic. Brand new, original DVDs – no bootlegs here!
