Silver extraction -- VERNET version

Always one of the more memorable coin effects, Silver Extraction might have qualified as "extreme" magic way back before there was such a thing.  I mean, think of the effect:  a half dollar is squeezed until a lump of silver drops out of your hand, and all that is left is a see-through plastic half dollar.

The patter goes something like this:  money is not worth as much as it used to be because they are putting less and less real metal into the coins -- they're mostly plastic!  Watch!  That's when you squeeze out a drop of silver and show the plastic coin -- it has all the design detail of a real half dollar...it's just made of see-through plastic.

The old Johnson version of this effect had a bigger lump of silver that was partially imprinted with the coin's design.  This newer version by VERNET comes with a smaller tear drop lump of silver.  Both have advantages:  the Johnson lump is more visible, but the Vernet teardrop can come out of your hand so that it really looks almost liquid, dripping down and then solidifying.  The other VERNET version's advantage is that it's readily available, and at a much lower price that the Johnson version, if you can even find it.

Sometimes when I am work this effect, instead of using the supplied teardrop piece of "silver", I use the steel ball from the venerable steel ball and tube trick.  This has more visual impact when I am working for a larger close-up audience.  (There is no steel ball supplied, but you probably have the classic steel ball and tube effect in your drawer of closeup magic... or go get a ball bearing at the hardware store!)

Regularly sells for about $10, but I got a good buy on these, so can offer them at a MUCH better price for a short time.
