Tarbell created a deck to fool everyone. Magician or laymen -- it will not matter, you will smoke them with this deck (and a little practice, of course!)
With this deck, you can cut to any card that is named AFTER the deck has been genuinely shuffled.
The deck is intricately marked on the edge, so that the position of any card can be discerned at a glance, even when the deck is squared. These look to be machine marked, since it would be impossible to do it by hand (at least not so cleanly and perfectly, which makes the reading much, much easier).
It takes practice to learn the knack of glimpsing the card marks, (and you will need decent lighting and eyesight), but once you have it, you have a weapon that will serve you well when you want to fry your audience!
