Stan Loberstern's deck where all the cards are black, then all the cards are red. Then the deck is mixed red and black.

I was not too keen on this effect, but then read a Phil Goldstein idea for a routine where two halves of a deck are shown to be separated red and black. The red cards are circled by a red rubber band, and the black cards by a black rubber band. Change the rubber bands, and the two halves then change places! Put the entire deck together, and have a rubber band selected. Circle the deck, then show the entire deck is THAT color. Change the rubber band if you want, and show the entire deck is the OTHER color. Then take all the rubber bands away, and spread the deck showing it to be a well-mixed deck of red and black cards. (The routine I just described is not the one with the instructions, but easy to work out when you have the Power deck!)

Poker size Bicycle cards.  Brand new and unused.  Instructions provided are a photo-copy of the original instruction sheet.

Decked Out (early JB Magic) I know, I know.  The picture exposes the existence of split face and split back cards to world!!!  My belief is that there are not very many (read, none) non-magicians cruising magic websites, so I thought it was safe to post it.  Besides, I could not think of a better way to convey how cool a deck this is.
The effect is amazing.  Deck shown to be red, and shown to be well mixed.   Card selected.  Deck changes color to blue.  Now deck re-orders itself in Ace to King suited new deck order, which makes it obvious which card was it is not there.   Spectators card is revealed by the deck itself, and is the only odd backed card to boot!   Produced by Mark Mason in the UK, I do not see this trick available very often.  You will like this effect a LOT! The only complaint I would have is that the cards have Hoyle Backs and I am a Bicycle kinda guy.   But my audiences have never really questioned the different back design...all cards look alike to the lay audience anyway.   Great card stuff, you should own this!

Svengali Deck - Bicycle Poker
My first foray into the world of card magic was with Marshall Brodien's TV magic cards, back in the early 1970's. Well, the Svengali deck is the same thing, and I still use one. If you switch in this gimmicked deck after a few regular deck tricks, you will flabbergast the audience. And because it is a familiar Bicycle poker-size deck, you can switch it right back out again at the end. The effects are limited only by your imagination, but here are a few ideas: an easy ambitious card routine, where the selected card constantly comes to the top of the deck; n ESP miracle where a spectator tells you when to stop dealing cards, and the very card they stop on is the selected card; the classic routine where the entire deck changes to the selected card... You cannot have more fun with 52 cards than with a Svengali deck, especially if you are a beginner, but experienced magicians can also have a blast with this deck...if they are honest enough to admit they still use one!
