Classic Chinese sticks, but beautifully made in wood, with the typical MikameCraft attention to quality. Large, about 14" long...(I am guessing, so don't quote me on that.) Pull the short tassel on one stick, and the the long otassel on the other goes up. Now pull that (now) short tassel, and the (now) long one (that you pulled down before) goes up. Lots of sucker by-play as the spectators think the tassels run through the front of the sticks and then through the back, but even with the sticks completely separated, the tassles act in concert, one going up when the other goes down. The Rolls-Royce edition of the Chinese sticks effect! Brand new and unused.

The chinese sticks is a classic that has suffered from too many small, cheap plastic versions.   Because it is easy to do, it has been relegated to the ranks of "beginners" magic.   But the good news is that most beginners who get the cheap small sticks don't recognize the enormous entertainment value of this effect.   And so audiences have not been saturated with the effect.

Now, with this large, highly visible, wooden set of sticks, you can do justice to this classic of magic.    Show the two sticks, holding them in one hand. One stick has a long tassle and one has a short tassle.   Pull the short, the long goes up, and becomes the short! Pull it back down, the other goes up.    When audience thinks cords are connected, you separate the sticks and still the cords act as though they are connected.   Lots of fun by-play as well as mystery!

Although kidshow audiences love this effect, it can also be presented to adult audiences, who also appreciate its humor and mystery.

Sticks are 14 inches long, so great for living room, platform or stage!   The "action" on these sticks is smooth and works with very little movement on the part of the magician.    The tassels are bright yellow and very visible.   The tassles are quite large (too large for my liking, so I trimmed them down a bit on my own set of thes sticks -- even when trimmed down, the yellow color keeps them still very visible).   But if you work a lot of larger stage shows, you can leave the large tassels as is.

If you do not own a nice set of Chinese sticks, and you don't want to spend a small fortune for one, here is my recommended set for this Classic of Magic.
